At Enterprise Roofing, we take pride not only in delivering quality roofing solutions but also in giving back to the community that has supported us for nearly 100 years. That commitment was exemplified through our Free Roof Contest, and we are thrilled to announce this year’s winner: Eric Slover, a military veteran from Beavercreek, Ohio.
Recognizing a Life of Service and Resilience
Eric Slover’s story is one of dedication and extraordinary resilience. After being stationed as the Professor of Military Science at Wright State University, Slover was poised for continued advancement, including a promotion to Colonel and enrollment at the prestigious Army War College. However, in 2019, life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH), a rare and painful condition affecting approximately 1 in a million adults.
Despite battling this challenging illness, which has required years of chemotherapy and specialized medical treatments, Slover has remained grateful for the care he’s received from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) and surrounding medical facilities.
But with mounting medical expenses, tackling home repairs like replacing his aging roof became an overwhelming burden. That’s when we knew we could step in to help.
A Small Gift of Gratitude
We at Enterprise Roofing are deeply inspired by Eric’s story and are proud to honor his service and perseverance by awarding him a brand-new roof. As Stefan Neumeister, the owner of Enterprise, expressed:
“Eric’s story is both powerful and inspiring. His distinguished service, along with his resilience in the face of serious health challenges, makes him a truly deserving recipient. We are honored to support him with a new roof, and we hope this gesture provides some relief and comfort to him and his family during this challenging time.”
With nearly a century of history in the Dayton community, Enterprise Roofing is committed to initiatives like our Free Roof Contest, giving back to those who have made a significant impact. Eric’s determination in the face of adversity made him the ideal candidate for this year’s award.
A Community Coming Together
Eric’s gratitude shines through in his words:
“I am incredibly thankful to Enterprise Roofing for this generous gift. The financial burden of replacing our roof was a significant concern, especially with the ongoing medical expenses. Knowing that this is taken care of brings immense relief to my family and me. It is a tremendous weight off our shoulders, and we are so grateful for this support from the community.”
We are humbled to play a role in providing some peace of mind to Eric and his family during these difficult times.
