Preparations

& What to Expect on the Day of Your NEW ROOF Installation
  • Expect work to begin at 7am daily. If this will be disrupting anything, please discuss it with your sales person prior to beginning work.
  • Make sure all pets are secured and that their waste has been cleaned up prior to the crew’s arrival; discuss with the contractor or crew any requirements for opening and closing pet gates.
  • Clear your driveway and street for our trucks and dumpsters. We need adequate space to work and want to avoid any possible damage to cars or equipment left in the work space.
  • Clear the work area of any items that could obstruct or get damaged by the roofing crew such as vehicles, bikes, basketball hoops, planters, or other gardening tools.
  • Ensure the roofing team has clear access to the roof. Be sure to unlock any gates and ensure there are no obstructions for our ladders.
  • If there is rain or inclement weather predicted, anticipate a delay in work being performed that day.
  • We will need access to a power source.
  • Take appropriate measures to protect any valuable items.
  • If you have skylights, cathedral ceilings or an exposed attic, be aware that some debris could fall inside your house. If you have concerns, discuss it with the team prior to the start of the job and take action to protect yourself and any valuables.
  • When you leave the house, be aware that there are people working above. Take caution, as things may fall from above.
  • In most cases, you can plan to be home during the roof installation process. However, know that our work will be very loud, and could be disruptive if you work from home or have children trying to nap.
  • Consider alerting your neighbors about your roof installation and the timeframe in which work will be done.

Things to Discuss with the Crew Before Work Begins:

  • A plan for covering your flowers and shrubbery, and get an understanding of the potential for damage to your lawn or landscaping.
  • Any special or sentimental items in your yard or flower beds to be especially careful around.
  • Any special requests such as a plan for restroom use.
